Winter Care for Your Cooler

STEP 1: Storage
Store in a dry, enclosed place like a garage or storage shed. Refrain from storing in hot locations. We recommend using a cooler cover that is weatherproof / weather resistant. By keeping it covered, you can significantly reduce the chances of rust developing and extend the lifespan of your cooler.
STEP 2: Cleaning
Cleaning your cooler will help prevent rust formation. We suggest cleaning the inside with mild soap and lukewarm water before each use – especially if it has been stored for some time. Hand wash only. Ensure you clean and dry the inside and outside of the cooler after each use with a soft-clean cloth. We also recommend applying a light coat of automotive wax on the outside of the cooler to protect and prolong its life and finish.
Quick Tips
- Make sure you drain your cooler completely.
- We recommend chilling your drinks before placing them into the cooler to optimize coolness for when your guests arrive immediately for a cool beverage.
- Do not keep water in your cooler for long periods
- We recommend keeping the cooler filled to ensure your drinks stay cooler.
- Do not roll when the cooler is full
- Make sure you dry the lid hinges!
- Keeping the cooler out of direct sun can make the ice last 2x longer when in use.
- Avoid extreme cold temperatures – direct exposure to freezing temperatures can damage the cooler’s seals and components.
- Slight air circulation: Leave the lid slightly open to allow air to circulate and prevent mold growth.
