Grill igniter not working: troubleshooting a 2-wire ignition system

Troubleshooting: ignitor does not work

Twist the igniter cap counter-clockwise and insert the battery into the slot with the positive (+) end facing out

2 Terminal Modules
PG-40406S0L (AA) Module 40600030 (Two Black Wires)
PG-40409S0LB (AAA) Module 40800122 (1 Black Wire for Main, Orange wire for searing side burner)
PG-40409S0LB-1 (AA) Module 40800123 (1 Black Wire for Main, Orange wire for searing side burner)
PG-40409S0LB-2 (AA) Module 40820122 (1 Black Wire for Main, Orange wire for searing side burner)
PG-40201 (AA) Module 21800502 (Two Black Wires)
PG-40611 (AAA) Module 40800122 (Two Black Wires)

MMG2001AB (AA) Module 21800032 (2 Black wires for the main, 1 large red tip red marked large socket and 1 large white tip)
FYI: Not a push button
The wires come pre-installed from the factory and can be found beneath the right side of the control panel.
Furthermore, two of these wires are also visible on the top of the grill head. The electrode needles are an integral component of this wire assembly; please refer to the attached pictures for visual guidance.




Battery check - positive facing outwards towards the button
Press button to check for audible "click" noise
If using the original battery, this may be discharged. please check operation with a fresh battery

2 Terminals to plug in wire (black or orange wires)
1 wire - Main burner (Pre-installed onto grill)
1 wire - Side Burner (Loose, manually installed, black or orange depending on side burner)
